Threads are cut to match the National Pipe Taper (NPT) standard, or to meet other relevant standards, to guarantee a tight, leak-free seal when connected to standard fittings. NPTLOK uses another method for machining threads of stainless steel pipe nipples to make the threads more stronger.
SS316 material is resistible to chlorides. They are ideal for marine and chemical applications.
Stainless steel has a lot of strength, which makes it perfect for high pressure, like up to 3000 psi or more. This is one reason why it’s often chosen over brass or carbon steel material for certain projects.

Pipe Nipples Are for Pipe Systems, Not Tubing
Pipe nipples are designed for threaded pipe systems and are sized by nominal pipe size (NPS). They are not compatible with tubing systems, which use compression fittings and are sized by actual outer diameter (OD).
