NPTLOK Stainless Steel Tubing

Stainless steel tubing is necessary to connect instrumentation tube fittings e valves. NPTLOK can offer you stainless steel coil tubing, stick tubing, seamless tubing, and welded tubing according to the ASTM A269 / 213 standard.

Stainless steel includes 304, 304L, 316, and 316L. We can offer you a material test certificate (MTC).

Outer diameter: 1/8”-2”

Thickness depends on the size and pressure.

For the stainless steel stick tubing, 10 feet at 1 piece or 20 feet at 1 piece is available to be packed.

Send us your inquiry according to your requirements.

Size in fractional:

The data is based on the minimum wall thickness and the maximum O.D. allowed by and under the standard of ASTM A269.

Multiply pressure by .80 for welded tube pressure rating.

Choose stainless steel tubing based on different applications

In different applications, the requirements for stainless steel tubing are different.

If you use conexões de tubo com ponteira dupla, you should choose the bright annealed seamless tubing, which is suitable for ponteira dupla sealing.

If you use single ferrule tube fittings, you should choose the blank tubing.

If the tubing is used to connect the Oxygen equipment, the stainless steel tubing should be bright annealed and degreased to keep the tubing clean.

Choose the suitable stainless steel tubing according to your project’s applications and environments.

Stainless steel tubing weight calculation and unit conversion

You may want to know how to calculate stainless steel tubing weight. The formula is : (OD-thickness)*thickness*0.025=weight per meter

Below are some unit conversions:

Inch to mm: inch *25.4=mm For example: 1/2” OD=0.5*25.4=12.7mm

Foot to meter: 10 feet =3.048 meters 20 feet=6.096 meters

Here is an example of how to calculate 1/2”od*0.049” thickness stainless steel tubing weight:

1/2”od=0.5*25.4=12.7mm   0.049” thickness=0.049*25.4=1.2mm thickness

(12.7-1.2)*1.2*0.025=0.345kg/meter    6 meters (20 feet) =2.07(kg)    3 meters(10 feet)=1.035(kg)

The Differences between Stainless Steel Coil Tubing and Stick Tubing

Stainless steel coil tubing is more complex to produce than stainless steel stick tubing, so its price is higher.

In order to reduce the risk of infiltration and exfiltration in some special applications, stainless steel coil tubing is advised. Workers will find it quicker and easier to install the coiled tube in a continuous design. This can save installation time and reduce labor costs.

Normally, most customers purchase stainless steel stick tubing for its rigidity and lower cost than coiled tube. Stainless steel stick tubing is easily cut to your required lengths.

Choose the right stainless steel tubing according to your application requirements.

How to choose 304 or 316 Stainless Steel Tubing?

Comparison of the main chemical components of 304 and 316 material:

comparison of main chemical components

As you can see from the chemical components, Mo is added to 316 stainless steel, which can significantly improve its ability to resist chloride corrosion. This makes it suitable for chloride-containing environments such as oceans and chemicals.

There is no Mo in 304 material. 304 stainless steel can not resist chloride corrosion. It resists general corrosion, such as weak acids and alkalis.

In applications, 316 stainless steel tubing is used in harsh environments such as ship parts, seawater treatment equipment, and chemical pipelines.

304 stainless steel tubing is used in daily necessities, building decorations, and food processing types of equipment.
