A Wide Range of Lengths to Choose from, Customized Length Available

There is a gap between your pipes and you need a pipe nipple to fill it. However, lengths of pipe nipples do not always fit. That’s why we offer as many standard lengths as possible and also accept customized lengths.

As for standard lengths, we offer close nipples (very short), and common lengths such as 1.5” (38.1mm), 2“ (50.8mm), 2.5” (63.5mm), 3” (76.2mm), 4” (101.6mm), 6” (152.4mm).

If you need other lengths that do not list above. Customization is welcome. You can send us your specific needs and we will try our best to meet them.

Thread mismatch is a common problem. Sometimes you have the right galvanized pipe nipple but end up with wrong threads. So you stock three different thread types from three different suppliers. But you don’t need to do that.

We make galvanized pipe nipples in all three standards and also have plenty of sizes to choose from.

NPT: We have 1/16”, 1/8“, 1/4“, 3/8“, 1/2“, 3/4“, 1”.

BSP: We have 1/16”, 1/8“, 1/4“, 3/8“, 1/2“, 3/4“, 1”.

Metric: We have M8*1, M14*1.5, M16*1.5, M20*1.5, M24*1.5, M27*2, M30*2.

Advantage and disadvantage to Galvanize Carbon Steel Pipe Nipples

You may want to ask: why bother galvanizing carbon steel pipe nipples instead of using it directly? Here are some pros and cons to help solve your question.

When galvanizing carbon steel pipe nipple, the first obvious advantage is that it will provide the carbon steel with good corrosion protection. Even if the surface is scratched and the carbon steel is bare, zinc coating will continue protecting the inner layer because zinc coating rusts before carbon steel.

Second, galvanized carbon steel is cost-effective compared to stainless steel, with similar sizes and lengths to choose from, you don’t need to pay that much. Third, it has a relatively long service life against harsh weather conditions and low maintenance. Buy it and you save a lot of time reapplying coating again and again.

However, with all these advantages, galvanizing carbon steel has some cons too. First, it is not for strong acids or alkalis, the zinc coating will disappear in these environments. Second, it is not ideal for fine threads because the heavy-duty coating will influence precise alignment.

Having all these in mind, try our electro-galvanized pipe nipples. MOQ is 10 pcs, you don’t need to order a large deal before you trust us.

Electro-Galvanized vs Hot-Dip Galvanized pipe nipples, What Is the Difference?

This is a common question.

Electro-galvanized pipe nipples(our product): Thin coating (5-12 µm). Bright, smooth finish. Good for indoor use. Less expensive. Not for outdoor long-term.

Hot-dip galvanized pipe nipples : Thick coating (45-85 µm). Dull gray finish. Excellent for outdoor use. More expensive. Lasts decades outdoors.

We make electro-galvanized pipe nipples, for indoor and general industrial applications.

Galvanized vs Stainless Steel Pipe Nipples, Which One Do You Need?

Here is the simple rule.

Stainless steel pipe nipples: For corrosive media, high temperatures, outdoor, chemical plants, marine environments. Costs more. No coating to fail.

Galvanized carbon steel pipe nipples: For indoor air lines, water lines, general industrial piping. They are not for outdoor long-term or strong chemicals. Costs much less.

Pick galvanized pipe nipples when your budget is tight. Your environment is indoor and dry or mildly humid. Your media is water, air, or oil. You need basic rust protection but cannot justify stainless.

Pick stainless steel pipe nipples when your media is corrosive. Your temperature is high. Your environment is outdoor or marine. You need full material traceability.

Not sure? Tell us your media, temperature, and environment. We will recommend one.

Galvanized Pipe Nipples Applications

Indoor air lines
Indoor air lines

Compressed air distribution in factories and workshops. Galvanized coating of galvanized pipe nipples prevents rust from condensation inside the pipes.

Indoor water lines (cold water only)
Indoor water lines (cold water only)

Galvanized pipe nipples are used in cold water piping inside buildings but not for hot water or steam. They Provide basic rust protection at low cost.

General industrial piping
General industrial piping

Galvanized pipe nipples are used in general industrial piping connecting equipment, process lines, and transfer lines in manufacturing plants. They are reliable and economical for non-corrosive service.

Oil lines (non-corrosive)
Oil lines (non-corrosive)

Galvanized pipe nipples are used in lubrication lines and oil transfer in industrial equipment. The carbon steel body handles oil well. Their zinc coating protects external surfaces.

Equipment inside a dry plant

Galvanized pipe nipples are used in Internal piping on machines, compressors, and pumps. They keep connections clean and rust-free in indoor dry environments.

Q1. What is the temperature limit of galvanized pipe nipples?

Do not exceed 200°C (400°F). The zinc coating will degrade at higher temperatures.

Q2. Can I use electro-galvanized pipe nipples outdoors?

Electro-galvanized pipe nipples are not for long-term outdoor exposure. The coating is too thin. It will rust. For outdoor use, you need hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel pipe nipples.

Q3. How long do galvanized pipe nipples last indoors?

In dry indoor environments, galvanized pipe nipples can last 5-15 years. In mildly humid indoor environments, galvanized pipe nipples can last 5-10 years. The exact time depends on humidity and air quality.

Q4. Can I use galvanized pipe nipples for water lines?

Yes, you can use galanized pipe nipples for indoor cold water lines, but not for hot water or steam. Check your local code for drinking water: some codes restrict galvanization so you can not use galvanized pipe nipples there.

Q5. Can I weld galvanized pipe nipples?

Yes, but carefully remove the zinc coating from the weld area first. Zinc fumes generated from zinc coating are toxic. So you need to weld galvanized pipe nipples in a well-ventilated area. And you also need to touch up the weld area with cold galvanizing spray.
