Hex Reducing Nipple Manufacturer
- Different thread sizes on each end, no extra adapters needed
- Hexagonal center for easy wrench installation
- 316 stainless steel up to 10,000 psi, brass for lower pressure
- NVV or BSP threads, we match your system
Why Choose NPTLOK Hex Reducing Nipples?
Stop stacking adapters. Use one fitting instead.
By using NPTLOK hex reducing nipples instead of stacking adapters (bushings, nipples and couplings) to connect two pipes of different sizes, the typical problem size mismatch can be solved.
Instead of three adapters, you install one hex reducing nipple. Instead of six threads to seal, you seal two. Instead of aligning multiple parts, you turn one hex center with a standard wrench.
NPTLOK hex reducing nipple. One fitting. One installation. One less leak.
That means:
- Fewer places for leaks to occur.
- Faster installation, save time and money with lower labor costs.
- Cleaner panels, no bulky adapter stacks
The NPTLOK hex reducing nipple is made to stop stacking and start simplifying.
Our Hex Reducing Nipple Range

1/4″ male NPT on one end, 1/8” male NPT on the other. 316 stainless steel or brass.

3/8″ male thread to 1/8” male thread. Stainless steel up to 8,000 psi. Brass up to 3,500 psi.

3/8″ to 1/4” reduction. Most common size for instrumentation panels.

1/2″ to 1/4” reduction. Used in hydraulic and chemical injection systems.

1/2″ to 3/8” reduction. Common for process connections.

3/4″ to 1/2” reduction. For larger piping systems.
Features of Our Hex Reducing Nipple

Connect different pipe sizes without extra adapters.

Wrench-friendly. No pipe wrench needed.
Tell us your thread standard. We match your system.
1/8″ to 2”. Custom combinations available.
Thread Protection, Every Male Thread Arrives Ready to Use
Threads get damaged in shipping. A bumped edge, a scratched thread, that hex reducing nipple is ruined before you even open the box.
We put plastic caps on every male thread of our hex reducing nipples. Every single one. The caps absorb the bumps. The threads stay clean. No dents. No scratches.
When you open the box, your hex reducing nipples are ready to install. No inspection needed. No returns. Just thread sealant and a wrench.

Many Choices, Find the Right Hex Reducing Nipple for Your System
Not every job needs the same size reduction or the same thread standard.
We offer a wide range of hex reducing nipple configurations:
Size combinations: 1/2“ x 3/8”, 3/8“ x 1/4”, 1/2“ x 1/4”, and many more. Custom combinations available.
Thread standards: NPT for North America, BSP for Europe and Asia, metric for OEM equipment.
Materials: 316 stainless steel for corrosion and high pressure
brass for water and air
carbon steel for oil and gas.
We can custom-make the hex reducing nipple according to your requirements for different sizes or threads.
Hexagonal Head, Wrench-Friendly, Thread-Safe
The hexagon is not just for looks. It makes installation simple and protects your threads.
With a hex reducing nipple, you use a standard wrench on the hex center. No pipe wrench. No teeth digging into the threads. The threads stay clean and undamaged.
Without the hex, you would need a pipe wrench. Pipe wrenches grip by biting into the metal: they damage the threads. And damaged threads mean leaks.

Pressure rating, Machined or Cast
We make both hex reducing nipples, machined or cast. Our machined hex reducing nipples are made on CNC lathes. Precision threads, consistent quality. Pressure ratings are from 3000 psi to 10000 psi. Our cast hex reducing nipples are one-piece formed. They are fast and cheap. But Pressure rating is only around 150 psi.
Tell us your pressure requirement. We will recommend the right type: machined for high pressure, cast for low pressure. The cost is quite different between the machine and cast production process, so the pressure for the hex reducing nipple needs to be confirmed.
Where Are Hex Reducing Nipples Used?

Transition from 1/2″ (13mm) process lines to 1/4″ (6mm) instrument ports. In very restricted panel space a hex reducing nipple is far better than other forms of reducing nipples as they do not stack.

Large pump outlets connect to small valve ports with high pressure ratings in compact spaces. Hex reducing nipples in carbon steel or stainless steel handle the pressure while saving space.

Hex reducing nipples made from 316 stainless steel are used to reduce 1/2″ supply lines to 3/8″ or 1/4″ injection points. These nipples are ideal for use on Chemical Injection Skids as they have excellent corrosion resistance and full traceability.

Brass hex reducing nipples are cost effective for non-corrosive media and can be used to connect smaller Ventile or outlets to larger mains.
Connect large headers to small instrument ports. Stainless steel hex reducing nipples are rated for service with natural gas and instrument air.
A 316 stainless steel hex reducing nipple is the ideal component to connect up different pipe sizes for chemical, refinery and food processing applications. It is able to withstand the higher pressure and temperature changes found within these processes.

Drop the 1/2″ or 3/8″ main lines down to 1/4″ size for your tools and air cylinders. Hex reducing nipples are available to speed up your connection time, by using the large hex to turn your wrench.
Learn More about Us
A regular Sechskantnippel has the same thread size on both ends. A hex reducing nipple has two different sizes, for example, 1/2″ on one end and 3/8” on the other. Use reducing nipple when you need to connect different size pipes or fittings.
Hex size depends on the larger end. For example, 1/2″ x 3/8” typically has a 7/8″ hex. The hex size is designed to fit standard wrenches. Check the specification table for exact dimensions.
Yes. Tell us your larger end size, smaller end size, thread standard, and material. We will make it. MOQ is 10 pcs.
Reducing pipe size increases pressure and flow velocity on the smaller side . Make sure your downstream equipment (valves, instruments, hoses) is rated for the higher pressure and velocity. Kontaktieren Sie uns if you are not sure.
Yes. Stainless steel hex reducing nipples are suitable for natural gas and other gas services . Brass is also used for gas but at lower pressures. Check your local code requirements.
